A Day in Baguio with a Local Friend Named Jupiter

A Day in Baguio with a Local Friend Named Jupiter
Baguio carries the nickname "summer capital of the Philippines" for a real reason: built up in the mountains, the air stays cool enough that even the local SM Mall skips air conditioning entirely, running on nothing but a natural breeze. This day started in the city center with a local friend, Jupiter, showing the place from a resident's angle rather than a tourist map. Between stops there was time to take in the view from the hills over Baguio, cool air included. Food came by way of chicken adobo and a handful of other local dishes, the kind of stop that works better with someone who actually knows where to go rather than guessing from a review site. Later, Jupiter's friends joined in, and the day rounded out with a walk through Baguio's night market — stalls, food, and city life all still going after dark. It's a simple formula that tends to produce the best travel days: a local friend, no fixed itinerary, and a city cool enough to make air conditioning feel unnecessary — even the malls agree.
